Overview of IYRF:

International Yoga Research Foundation (IYRF)

An Initiative of The Satsang Foundation

Cheruvikkal: The Sacred Home of Yoga Research

Envisioned by Sri M and established under The Satsang Foundation, the International Yoga Research Foundation (IYRF) is dedicated to the scientific exploration of Yoga and Meditation. Nestled in the tranquil village of Cheruvikkal ("Land of Sacred Tanks") in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram District—where the Western Ghats embrace the Kallada River—the foundation thrives amidst lush greenery, swaying coconut palms, and serene plantations.

For centuries, this hallowed ground has served as a sanctuary for spiritual seekers. Today, it hosts IYRF , where ancient yogic wisdom and modern science engage in transformative dialogue—a sacred space perfectly attuned to both inner exploration and groundbreaking research.

A Convergence of Nature and Knowledge
Cheruvikkal's unique geography makes it ideal for contemplative science:

  1. Situated along Kerala's historic "Meditation Belt".
  2. Blessed with a rare geomagnetic profile (7.83Hz baseline).
  3. Cradled in a microclimate rich in negative ions.
  4. Home to the 16th century Sree Mahadeva Temple and its medicinal groves

IYRF: Bridging Traditions

The Foundation's 4-acre campus is purpose-built to:

  1. Study yoga's effects using EEG, biofeedback and neuroimaging.
  2. Preserve endangered yogic knowledge systems.
  3. Train researchers in both scientific and traditional methods.
  4. Host global collaborations with leading institutions.
